In January 2007 The Maine’s days began as a school garage band who decided they wanted to take their sounds further than the back yard. The pop-punk melodists’ inspired by the success of original swept, straightened locked Cute Is What We Aim For pushed themselves to graduate early from High School, and their days were spent adding friends and not sums. It all paid off. The bands first local show, spread through word of mouse, had them playing to a packed crowd of 600, including label representatives, and their current bosses at Fearless Records (Mayday Parade, Plain White T’s, Punk Goes… Series). The remaining months saw the five push out two EP’s (Stay Up, Get Down and The Way We Talk) and had them sharing stages and touring with the best of the rest in catchy pop punk. The Maine’s debut full length hits the streets just 17 months after their formation. Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop was produced by Matt Squire; the man behind the releases of similar wave surfers Cute Is What We Aim For, Boys Like Girls, The Cab and any of the other hottest alternative albums over the past five years. CSWS will be release on July 8th, making it one of the must have summer imports. After spending a Warped Summer in the US, The Maine will be heading across to UK shores supporting The Academy Is… in September spreading their Sexy Pop Punk nationwide. These teens talk of girls, style and parties; representing every single line in their live show; girls’ swoon, the band perfected, and all out preppy mayhem erupts.

In 2001 Ian Molla and Kevin Coffrin; the two founding members of The Urgency moved away from their hometown of Vermont to take their honoured places at Ithica University in New York where they both studied Jazz in a step to take their musical talents to the next level. There they met their soon to be drummer Guerin Blask. The trio continued their musical endeavours out of study hours by playing local shows in various different bands. Once they had successfully completed their respective courses the three, who now had a taste for the Rock lifestyle, moved into New York City to grab some more spotlight and take a step up as a band. They knew they needed much more to take them there though. Queue Tyler Gurwicz, a young 18 year old with the same aspirations as his new friends. He dropped out of college after just one short term and joined the band full time. Just a few months ago the band signed a deal with Major Label Island/Def Jam and have just finished working with renowned producer David Bendeth (Paramore, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Hawthorne Heights). The album, which title is yet unknown, is due out at the end of the summer, and the bands first single from it will be Fingertips; a track currently uploaded onto their MySpace page. May welcomed their final member Ryan Siegel on guitar; completing the intensely talented line up. Punchy and clear with well timed breaks and beats, The Urgency’s sound is crisp, clean Rock telling tales of revenge, love, girls, sex and pleasure. Lead singer Tyler pushes out each word of the songs he sings, the lines welling up inside his chest, spilling out with venom and truth. The Urgency plays each and every live show as if to an Academy. Give them that and they’ll play as if to an Arena.
