South East Indie Rockers with Pop Punk arrogance and Hardcore influences

 

To be classed as Indie band can sometimes be a negative genre box to be put in. For Indie generally ties to the note of being put together by a Major Record Label, having songs written for you, and being driven by quick fame rather than passion. The Getaway Team step outside this box and create a star.

Formed in 2006 within the artsy lanes of Guildford, the Surrey five piece bonded through their song writing skills and found each added their own to create a sound and style unique to themselves.

Taking a hint of the early Kooks with stop, start sounds and punchy lines the melodies are simple and head sticking. Frontman Tom’s  vocals hold a hint of Daryl Palumbo; throaty pushes coming from deep in his chest. Live this band hold nothing of the static-ness of other The bands, for their inspiration is rooted deep in rock. Their moves of expressive and large with touches of understandable arrogance. Whatever your expectations may be, this band will exceed them.

Signed to fresh Independent label Easy Tiger Records The Getaway Team have just recently released their mini album Haven’t You Heard. Their upcoming dates include shows with UK band Cut the Blue Wire as well as headline shows in the countries coolest venues.
